<p id=”par-2_74″>Earlier this month, Harry and his father, King Charles III, had what was reportedly an emotional reunion at Highgrove House. While Harry and his father have met several time since the prince stepped back as a working royal in 2020, this sit down was notable because it also involved Meghan as well as their two children, <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/prince-archie-princess-lilibet-arent-going-easy-adults-author-says-time-bomb-waiting-to-go-off.html/”>Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet</a>. Queen Camilla was present as well, making this meeting a truly family affair. </p>
<p id=”par-3_48″>Harry left the long-awaited meeting feeling “buoyed” and “really energized,” an insider told <a href=”https://www.aol.com/articles/prince-harry-feeling-buoyed-meghan-212729000.html” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>The Daily Mail</a>. While the 1-hour get together was brief, the Duke of Sussex was reportedly “very happy” that it happened. And he left more determined than ever to rebuild his bond with the King. </p>
<p id=”par-4_56″>“Harry came away from that visit with a renewed sense of what he misses — seeing his father as a grandfather, watching his children explore a place that is part of their heritage. It has made him more determined to find a way back, at least part‑time,” a source close to Harry and Meghan told <a href=”https://www.wonderwall.com/celebrity/royals/prince-harry-determined-after-uk-visit-find-way-back-royal-life-meghan-markle-remembers-toll” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Wonderwall</a>. </p>
<p id=”par-5_45″>“He believes there must be a workable arrangement where he can be present in the U.K. with proper security while continuing the life he has built in the United States. In his mind, it does not have to be all or nothing,” the insider added. </p>

<p id=”par-6_15″>His wife, however, is enthusiastic about stepping back into the fold of the royal family. </p>
<p id=”par-7_41″>“Meghan is far less convinced. From her perspective, they stepped away for very clear reasons, and any return — even a partial one — risks dragging them back into the same pressures and scrutiny they tried to escape,” another source shared. </p>
<p id=”par-8_16″>The <em>Suits </em>star has not forgotten how difficult her time was as a full-time working royal. </p>
<p id=”par-9_27″>“She worries that opening the door even a little could let everything back in — the media pressure, the internal politics, the constant second-guessing,” an insider claimed. </p>
<p id=”par-10_67″>Meghan understands why her husband wants their children to have a relationship with their elderly grandfather and to have a connection with their British roots. At the same time, she is “protective” of the private life they’ve built for their family in California, sources said. And she isn’t convinced that the issues that drove them to step away from royal life six years ago have been resolved. </p>
<p id=”par-11_120″>But even if Harry can get Meghan on board with the idea of a partial return to the U.K., big hurdles still remain. The Duke still has not been granted the high level of police protection that he is convinced he and his family need to be safe in the U.K. Harry has said that the dispute over security stands in the way of him spending significant time in the country with his wife and kids. But critics say Harry is blowing the risk way out of proportion. He and his wife could simply chose to embrace a lower profile and not make a big deal out of of their visits, which would substantially reduce any possible threats, they argue. </p>
<p id=”par-12_86″>“Harry and Meghan can come in and depart the United Kingdom whenever they like,” royal expert Richard Kay said during a recent appearance on <a href=”https://www.dailymail.com/news/royals/article-15985685/harry-meghan-uk-visit-security-drama-richard-kay-palace-confidential.html” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Palace Confidential</a>. “We don’t see photographs of them, unless they want to be photographed. They make such a drama about all of this, and yet the public don’t need to know … All this talk that Harry’s in danger and he needs this wraparound security – well, anonymity is the best form of security of all. No one can cause them harm.”</p>
