<p id=”par-1_22″>More drama between <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/prince-harry/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Prince Harry</a> and the royal family played out in public before the duke even landed in the U.K. </p>
<p id=”par-2_74″>There was the news about the U.K. Home Office denying the Sussexes’ request for the prince, <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/prince-harry-was-able-to-marry-meghan-markle-because-she-didnt-do-this-1-thing-in-her-past.html/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Meghan Markle</a>, and their two children to receive taxpayer-funded police protection while in the country, which led to the duchess and their kids staying behind in Montecito, and also reports that the Palace rescinded an offer for Harry to stay at <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/rodents-and-asbestos-are-a-few-reasons-some-royals-dislike-buckingham-palace.html/”>Buckingham Palace</a> while in England. The latter led to public back-and-forth between Harry’s camp and the royals.</p>
<p id=”par-3_35″>According to royal aides, Harry did not accept the invitation by the deadline, which was needed because preparations had to be made in advance since no one is currently living at the London Palace. </p>

<p id=”par-4_44″>They claim Harry was again testing his father and “the king’s patience snapped. He wants to be a loving father and grandfather, but that was being tested beyond endurance. He is not willing to be pushed around, nor to indulge a constant state of chaos.”</p>
<p id=”par-5_31″>Now someone who used to work for the royals is giving their take on what’s going on and believes King Charles and Prince Harry’s relationship is now over for good. </p>

He regularly appears on TV offering royal commentary on both current and historic news stories.</p>

With everything that’s happened over the last 48 hours, I’d say it’s highly unlikely we’re going to see any sort of reconciliation anytime soon. I certainly don’t see happy families for a very, very long time, if ever. I really don’t.</p>
<p id=”par-8_58″>“To me, it feels as though the ship has sailed, and that relationship [between Harry and King Charles], as we once knew it, is effectively over. I just don’t quite see how the king can come back from what’s happened, and equally, I can’t see how Harry can either. The gulf between them now seems deeper than ever.”</p>

I hate to say it, but I think it would have to be something health-related or something involving the king for Harry and the rest of the family to come back together in any meaningful way. As things stand today, that’s really the only scenario in which I can see any kind of reunion happening.</p>
<p id=”par-10_72″>“So, for the foreseeable future, I just don’t see it happening. At this point, any reconciliation feels a very long way off. I was really positive that we were moving in the right direction, but events of the last couple of days have really turned everything on its head. This felt like the last chance for Harry to prove he was ready to make amends, and he has sadly wasted that chance.”</p>
