<p id=”par-1_9″>Tyler Henry recently bought a piece of spiritualism history. </p>
<p id=”par-2_32″>The clairvoyant medium and star of <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/hollywood-medium-tyler-henry-shared-warning-alan-thicke-sudden-death-dont-stubborn.html/”><em>Hollywood Medium With Tyler Henry</em></a><em> </em>purchased a special ring that famed illusionist and escape artist Harry Houdini originally bought for his beloved wife, Beatrice “Bess” Houdini. </p>

<p id=”par-3_34″>“Today a special piece of Spiritualism history arrived: Beatrice Houdini’s ring given to her by her husband, Harry – famous magician and attacker of all things paranormal,” Henry wrote on <a href=”https://www.instagram.com/p/DagXIF7SIA3/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Instagram</a> on July 7. </p>
<p id=”par-4_50″>Harry and Bess – both famous skeptics of mediumship and spiritualism – had a pact that, if possible, he would communicate with her after his death using a code phrase known only to them. After Harry died in 1926, Bess tried to years to make contact with her late husband.</p>
<p id=”par-5_61″>“Accounts vary as to if it ever came through; medium Arthur Ford was said to have genuinely relayed the message and convinced Bess that contact was made. Only after a lot of backlash from fellow skeptics would she redact her statement,” Henry wrote. He added that Bess was “attacked viciously” until she agreed that contact with the dead was not possible. </p>
<p id=”par-6_31″>“To support a medium was the opposite of her husband’s life’s work – the pressure had to be immense,” noted the star of Netflix’s <em>Life After Death With Tyler Henry. </em> </p>
<p id=”par-7_56″>“I have a soft spot for both she and Harry, as both spent their lives in search of a truth that often evaded them,” he continued. “By lambasting mediumship, both helped solidify its influence in ways neither could’ve imagined. Ultimately they were looking for a conclusive answer to man’s greatest question: is there <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/tyler-henry-offers-closure-to-a-jersey-shore-resident.html/”>life beyond death</a>?”</p>
<p id=”par-8_59″>While Houdini remained steadfast in his belief that mediums and psychics were frauds and con men, his crusade against the popular practice “popularized the seance room in a way few mediums ever could,” Henry argued. “Their lifetime pursuit encapsulated the mystery and wonder so many people feel around the unexplained. And for that I am thankful to them both.”</p>
