“I made Grow-Good because I really put the work in on my hair,” she told <a href=”https://wwd.com/beauty-industry-news/beauty-features/cardi-b-grow-good-haircare-line-revolve-1238675012/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>WWD, adding, “I was doing my own masks in my kitchen, using what I already knew from my family’s recipes and what I learned from my own research. I really took my time to get my hair looking healthy again after years of damage. And guess what? It worked. Now I wanna share my hair journey with everybody.”

The brand will officially launch on April 15.

While Cardi described her line as a dream come true, she admitted she has some concerns about launching a hair care brand.
She said she will view the company as a success if she has returning customers.

When Cardi cooks up a hair serum in her kitchen, she admits she uses some unconventional products. Onions, she said, do wonders for hair, and they don’t leave a lasting scent.

“Onions!” she said “Do not! Make! Your! Hair! Stink!”

Garlic, on the other hand, proved not to be a miracle product.

“I tried garlic…” she said. “Do not put garlic in your hair.”

The results were so disastrous that she spoke about it in more than one interview.

“I put garlic, but I put it too raw on my hair. For six months straight, every time I sweat, I smell like a pasta bowl,” she said on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “No garlic, I will never do that again. It didn’t work out. I had been doing rice water, onion water, but this time, I decided to go raw garlic… and I was smelling like a chicken Caesar salad for six months straight. It was so horrible.”

She said she would “never” use it again.
