<p id=”par-1_20″>Brooklyn Beckham didn’t hold back in his statement about <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/brooklyn-beckham-bombarded-with-offers-do-tell-all-interviews-family-feud-expert-says.html/”>the feud</a> with his famous <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/much-david-victoria-beckhams-extravagant-wedding-would-cost-today.html/”>parents, David and Victoria Beckham</a>. </p>
<p id=”par-2_55″>The couple’s oldest son took to his <a href=”https://www.instagram.com/stories/brooklynpeltzbeckham/?hl=en” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Instagram Stories</a> with a lengthy statement about what he says has been going on behind the scenes for years. Brooklyn claimed that his mother and father tried to “ruin” his marriage with his wife, Nicola Peltz, but painted a different picture in the press by “controlling the narrative.” </p>
<p id=”par-3_87″>His explosive statement read in part, “I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private. Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed,” Brooklyn’s shocking statement began. “I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.</p>

The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into,” he went on. “Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out. My parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn’t stopped.”</p>
<p id=”par-5_43″>Those who know or have worked with the Beckham family over the years have been taking sides, and now one of Brooklyn’s ex-girlfriends has entered the chat. She backs up Brooklyn’s statement about his parents, insisting that what was said is the truth.</p>
<p id=”par-6_67″>Afton McKeith, who is the daughter of Scottish television personality Gillian McKeith and used to date Brooklyn, told <a href=”https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/38011664/brooklyn-told-truth-victoria-david-ex-afton-mckeith/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>The Sun</a>, “A lot has gone on over the years. This has not just happened suddenly. Brooklyn was telling the truth in his post. It was hard for him growing up. There are two sides to every story, but I know growing up in the spotlight was challenging for him.”</p>

<p id=”par-7_42″>She continued, “He suffered from anxiety. Brooklyn felt as though the world was constantly waiting for him to muck up. I now feel his parents could have protected him more and considered the impact of the public Brand Beckham. Everyone recognized him.</p>
<p id=”par-8_46″>“He inevitably found himself in the spotlight and used to become upset about having his picture taken. He used to have security with him. He didn’t get angry. He didn’t have that personality. But he was frantic about it, anxious. I feel grateful my parents protected me.”</p>
<p id=”par-9_47″>McKeith added that she believes that Brooklyn did write the post himself. While some people have been speculating that his PR team or even Nicola penned it, she’s convinced those are all Brooklyn’s words, saying, “It was Brooklyn. He is intelligent — and he’s had enough.”</p>
