<p id=”par-2_30″>On March 4, the California Highway Patrol pulled over Spears for driving erratically. They arrested her and impounded her car before releasing her in the early morning of March 5.</p>
<p id=”par-3_65″>“This was an unfortunate incident <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/britney-spears-rep-called-dui-arrest-completely-inexcusable.html/”>that is completely inexcusable</a>,” a representative for Spears told the <a href=”https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/story/2026-03-05/britney-spears-arrested-dui-ventura” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>LA Times</a> in a statement. “Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law and hopefully this can be the first step in a long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life. Hopefully she can get the support she needs during this difficult time.”</p>

<p id=”par-4_12″>They added that her family will be <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/britney-spears-family-steps-overdue-new-plan-dui-arrest.html/”>stepping in to support her</a>.</p>
<p id=”par-5_34″>“Her boys are going to be spending time with her,” the representative said. “Her loved ones are going to come up with an overdue needed plan to set her up for success for well-being.”</p>
<p id=”par-6_11″>Spears is currently set to appear in court on May 4.</p>

<p id=”par-8_47″>“When it comes to people making mistakes, I understand that, but I think everybody deserves privacy and I hope that the press has learned from the past [and] they give her the privacy that she needs,” he said in an interview with Fox News (via <a target=”_blank” href=”https://pagesix.com/2026/03/06/celebrity-news/britney-spears-ex-husband-sam-asghari-addresses-pop-stars-dui-arrest/” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Page Six</a>).</p>
<p id=”par-9_32″>Alexander, who has <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/britney-spears-1st-husband-calls-kevin-federline-hypocrite-tell-book.html/”>frequently defended Spears</a> in the years since their marriage ended, posted a statement about her arrest. He wrote that people should wait to comment until they have more information.</p>

Rumors spread faster than facts, and suddenly someone is being judged before the truth is even clear,” he wrote on Instagram. “Britney Spears deserves the same thing anyone else does: facts, fairness, and due process — not headlines built on speculation. He said that the relationship was always real to him.</p>
