<p id=”par-1_38″>One day after it was reported that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor declined <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/king-charles-says-wont-see-a-long-distant-future-following-cancer-battle.html/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>King Charles</a>‘ offer to spend the summer holiday break with the rest of the family at Balmoral in Scotland, news broke that the ex-prince was enjoying himself elsewhere.</p>
<p id=”par-2_76″>This information was passed on to royal biographer and author of <em>Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York</em>, Andrew Lownie, after witnesses spotted the former Duke of York in the Cannes and Nice regions. So while it was believed that the disgraced royal was sitting alone in his <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/andrew-mountbatten-windsors-new-swamp-home-pest-problem.html/”>Marsh Farm house</a> with nothing to do but stare at four walls and <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/royal-exile-king-charles-refused-see-brother-andrew-despite-staying-just-five-minutes-away.html/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>live as a recluse</a>, he’s actually been doing some leisurely travel. </p>
<p id=”par-3_49″>That is infuriating to many because of Andrew’s links to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, the serious accusations against him, and <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/not-so-royal-andrew-mountbatten-windsor-treated-11-hours-under-arrest.html/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>his arrest earlier this year</a>. However, it’s something the king is aware of as his brother was released under investigation without conditions and is legally permitted to travel.</p>

<p id=”par-4_81″>“Andrew has not been stuck forlornly in Marsh Farm over the summer. He retains his passport and regularly travels abroad with the knowledge of the king,” Lownie shared, before adding, “Andrew has been in the South of France, where he was spotted in a red baseball cap, white trousers, Timberland shoes, and Ray-Ban glasses, and accompanied by two 40-something women — one blond and the other with red hair. It is said he is looking for a property in the region.”</p>
<p id=”par-5_43″>This has left some wondering if Andrew being busy hanging out in France is the reason he turned down going to Balmoral, but a friend of the former prince pointed to another reason as to why he decided not to go to Scotland.</p>
<p id=”par-6_64″>“He feels like he is no longer part of the family,” the friend told <a href=”https://www.thesun.co.uk/royals/40087308/shamed-andrew-rejects-royal-balmoral-invite/?utm_source=sharebar_app&utm_medium=sharebar_app&utm_campaign=sharebar_app_article”>The Sun</a>. “[Andrew] was invited but has got no great desire to be at Balmoral as he has nothing to gain and would be treated as an outcast. What’s the point, he feels, of going all the way there for a much-needed holiday and being treated as an elephant in the room?”</p>

<p id=”par-7_62″>Following Andrew’s arrest on Feb. 19, on suspicion of misconduct in public office, King Charles <a href=”https://www.bbc.com/news/live/c70kjr9wjw0t” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>released a statement</a> that read, “I have learned with the deepest concern the news about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and suspicion of misconduct in public office. What now follows is the full, fair, and proper process by which this issue is investigated in the appropriate manner and by the appropriate authorities.</p>
<p id=”par-8_58″>“In this, as I have said before, they have our full and wholehearted support and cooperation. Let me state clearly: the law must take its course. As this process continues, it would not be right for me to comment further on this matter. Meanwhile, my family and I will continue in our duty and service to you all.”</p>
<p id=”par-9_20″>Andrew has previously denied any wrongdoing related to Epstein and has not made any public comments since his arrest. </p>
