‘And Just Like That…’ Season 3: Carrie Bradshaw Spotted Wearing Dr. Scholl’s and Reading a Civil War Book

Filming for season 3 of And Just Like That… is officially underway. While filming is still in its early stages, fans have been treated to plenty of sneak peeks from scenes around New York City. Aidan Shaw’s big return was the talk of the internet early this week, but fans are also zeroing in on Carrie Bradshaw’s fashion choices. Season 3 is shaping up to look much different than the previous ones. Carrie was spotted wearing atypical footwear and carrying an interesting reading choice.

Sarah Jessica Parker was spotted filming scenes for And Just Like That… season 3 wearing classic Dr. Scholl’s sandals. The Dr. Scholl’s sandals Carrie has been seen wearing certainly look comfortable, but they are pretty out of character. Carrie has been known to strut her stuff in sky-high heels and was only seen wearing flats a handful of times during the run of Sex and the City and the reboot.

Since the show’s inception, the sex columnist has had expensive and impractical footwear tastes. She is best known for wearing Manolo Blahnik heels, so her sensible and reasonably priced Dr. Scholl’s sandals feel out of place. The classic sandal retails for $44. Carrie’s beloved Manolo Blahniks can cost upwards of $1,000 per pair. Surely, there must be a storyline attached to them. There is probably a story attached to the book she was spotted carrying, too.

Fans argue that Carrie’s footwear choice isn’t the only thing that seems out of character. Not only did Carrie trade in her high heels, but she was also spotted with some pretty curious reading material. In the same scene where she dons a pair of Dr. Scholl’s sandals, she is seen carrying a tote bag with a book peaking out of it. The book appears to be The Demons of Unrest by Erik Larson. The New York Times Best Selling book is a nonfiction offering that explores the months between the election of Abraham Lincoln and the start of the Civil War. Historical documents, diaries, and records were used to vividly depict a pivotal time in United States history.

‘Sex and the City’: Every Time Carrie Bradshaw’s Column Caused Trouble in Her Relationships

While the book is a solid read, Carrie doesn’t strike us as a history buff. We know Carrie was a reader. She enjoyed taking books out of the library and has been pictured with a book in hand more than once. Still, she never even hinted at an interest in history. So, her choice of Larson’s nonfiction offering seems peculiar despite its rave reviews. Could the book be somehow tied into the show’s storyline? Only time will tell.
