<p id=”par-1_32″>The Pittsburgh Steelers’ 30-6 playoff loss to the Houston Texans in the Wildcard Round ended the team’s season and possibly the career of one of the best quarterbacks to play the game.</p>
<p id=”par-2_53″>When the clock expired, everyone watched Aaron Rodgers walk off the field and wondered if that was the final time we’ll see the veteran signal caller in an <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/nfl/?swcfpc=1″>NFL</a> uniform. During his press conference, Rodgers was asked about his future as reporters tried to gain an indication of what he was thinking. </p>
<p id=”par-3_70″>“I’m not going to make any emotional decisions at this point,” he said, adding that he had “such a fun year. A lot of adversity, but a lot of fun. Been a great year overall in my life in the last year, and this is a really good part of that, coming here and being a part of this team. So it’s disappointing to be sitting here with the season over.”</p>

<p id=”par-4_48″>Rodgers signed with Pittsburgh on a one-year deal for the 2025 season, leaving many to believe that it would be his last stop and the year he will end his storied career. But without his confirmation, that question has hung above him and the team all season. </p>
<p id=”par-5_59″>He previously told reporters, “You know what the situation is. Whenever the season ends, I’ll be a free agent. So that’ll give me a lot of options if I still want to play. I mean, not a lot of options, but there’ll be options, I would think, maybe one or two, if I decide I still want to play.”</p>
<p id=”par-6_73″>The future Hall of Famer, who turned 42 in December, has toyed with the idea of retiring in the past, including when he famously spent four days and nights in total darkness at Sky Cave Retreats in southern Oregon before choosing to return to the game. But this time it doesn’t appear that a darkness retreat will help him decide; instead he’ll turn to <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/quarterback-aaron-rodgers-wife-britani.html/”>his wife, Britani</a>, to help him make that call. </p>
<p id=”par-7_17″>“I’ll talk to my wife, and then, hopefully, that’s a decision down the line,” he said. </p>

<p id=”par-8_48″>There has been a ton of mystery surrounding Rodgers’ marriage. He only revealed that he tied the knot after a reporter spotted his ring during Steelers minicamp and asked about it. At that time, the athlete confirmed that he had been married for “a couple of months.” </p>
<p id=”par-9_69″>Following his admission, Rodgers’ <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/aaron-rodgers-family-questions-quarterback-really-got-married.html/”>estranged family weighed in</a> with sources saying they suspect that the football player may have had a symbolic “commitment ceremony,” not a legally binding wedding. That’s because there is no marriage license for Rodgers via public records. Moreover, Britani is not on any social media platforms and team insiders claim that the wives and girlfriends of other Steelers players have never seen the couple together. </p>
<p id=”par-10_70″>Rodgers hit back at the doubters on an episode of <em><a href=”https://youtu.be/IJjRrEXz55A” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>The Pat McAfee Show</a>,</em> telling the host, “I lived in the public eye for 20 years. I had public relationships. How did that work out? I had people leaking my home information and making up stories that we bought a house together. I had people calling the paparazzi … I didn’t want any of that, didn’t like any of that.</p>
<p id=”par-11_49″>“Now I’m with somebody who’s private, who doesn’t want to be in the public eye, didn’t sign up to be a celebrity, doesn’t want to be a part of it. And because I do things in private because I want my personal life to be private, now I’m weird.”</p>
