Weeks after the Trump administration sent FBI agents to the Fulton County election office and seized more than 700 boxes of ballots and materials related to the 2020 presidential election, the President himself is headed to the Peach State on Thursday.
Trump is expected to tout his economic agenda and show support for Republican candidate Clayton Fuller, the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit District Attorney who is running in Georgia’s 14th Congressional District special election to replace former U.S. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), the once staunch Trump supporter who lost faith in the President and opted not to finish her term.
Per state law, all candidates in the special election (which is scheduled for March 10) will run on one ballot, with a runoff election scheduled for the top two candidates (on April 7) if none receives over 50% of the vote. Of the 18 candidates running in the deeply conservative district, 13 are Republican.
Donald Trump has done nothing but raise costs on our families and farmers. This visit will be another painful reminder of the economic pain he’s causing Georgians. https://t.co/ShnPyJSYzY

[NOTE: Georgia’s former Republican Lt. Governor Geoff Duncan, who’s currently running as a Democrat for Governor of Georgia, responded to Trump’s planned trip by writing: “Donald Trump has done nothing but raise costs on our families and farmers. This visit will be another painful reminder of the economic pain he’s causing Georgians.”]
Shawn Harris, a cattle farmer and retired U.S. Marine Corps brigadier general who lost to Greene in 2024, is considered the leading Democratic candidate. He said he’s aiming to win some Republicans over “with a message centered on lowering costs for everyday workers and expanding access to affordable healthcare.”
Note: As seen below, when asked if there’s a possibility of a Democrat flipping the solidly red district, the Trump-endorsed candidate Fuller said “absolutely,” and added that “if Georgia 14 turns blue it would be a tragedy for the President’s agenda.”
Even the Republicans know we’re winning. Clay Fuller says it himself. Watch the whole segment – good stuff! pic.twitter.com/1U6e5ME3f1
