Trump Ally Pushes Emil Bove for SCOTUS, “He Is a Savage”

Mike Davis

Conservative political strategist and lobbyist Mike Davis, a staunch defender and ally of President Trump, was asked by Fox News host Laura Ingraham who is on Trump’s short list for the Supreme Court — if current SCOTUS Justice Samuel Alito, 76, were to resign.

Davis said he doesn’t know who is on the president’s list, and instead provided a list of his own top picks.

Davis named Solicitor General John Sauer (who represented Donald Trump in Trump v. United States in 2024 and presented arguments to the Supreme Court in the birthright citizenship case Trump v. Barbara, Florida District Judge Aileen Cannon (who dismissed the federal criminal case against Trump in July 2024, ruling that special counsel Jack Smith’s appointment was unconstitutional), and Circuit Judge of the Court of Appeals, Emil Bove, who represented Trump in the federal classified documents and election obstruction cases, with now-acting Attorney General Todd Blanche.

When Davis mentioned Bove, Ingraham noted that Bove was confirmed by the Senate in July 2025 by a vote of 50 to 49 — “by the skin of his teeth,” she said, adding “he is fabulous.”

Davis replied, “He is a savage, um, for the Constitution,” and, “he will follow the law, and he does not care at all about what the elite think about him.”

[NOTE: Measured by Ivy League pedigree, the Supreme Court is arguably the most elite institution in American government, with only Justice Amy Coney Barrett (Notre Dame) not having graduated from Harvard or Yale law schools. Sauer received his J.D. from Harvard; Bove from Georgetown; and Cannon from the University of Michigan. Davis received his J.D. from the University of Iowa.]
