U.S. Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) on Tuesday criticized President Trump’s Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent for his handling of documents related to the Epstein Files.
On MS Now’s All in With Chris Hayes, Krishnamoorthi said: “There’s a $1.5 billion worth of wire transactions that have been documented in what are called suspicious activity reports that have yet to be disclosed by the Treasury Department because Scott Bessent won’t allow it.”
3.5 million Epstein-related pages are still being withheld, and the Treasury Department still won’t release documentation of $1.5 billion in suspicious financial transactions tied to the Epstein investigation.

Krishnamoorthi also criticized President Trump’s Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche for his “mishandling” of the Epstein Files.
The Congressman from Illinois wrote: “Todd Blanche’s mishandling of the Epstein files should disqualify him from leading the Department of Justice. That’s why I sent a letter with my colleagues to Senate Majority Leader Thune urging the Senate to reject Blanche’s nomination for Attorney General.”

The letter (above) claimed that under Blanche’s watch, “transparency gave way to secrecy, accountability yielded to political calculation, and survivors seeking justice were too often sidelined while powerful interests appeared shielded from scrutiny.”
Democratic U.S. Reps. Shri Thanedar (MI), Danny Davis (IL), Yvette Clarke (NY), Rashida Tlaib (MI), Chuy Garcia (IL), Don Beyer (VA), Dan Goldman (NY), and Dina Titus (NV), also signed the letter, along with delegate to Congress Eleanor Holmes Norton (DC).
[NOTE: In September 2025, Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR) introduced the Produce Epstein Treasury Records Act, “to compel the Treasury Department to turn over Epstein-related bank records to congressional investigators,” but it was blocked on the Senate floor in March 2026.]
Reminder that Trump’s Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is sitting on Epstein’s financial records showing 4,700+ wire transfers totaling over $1.1 BILLION in and out of his accounts, including payments to women and girls.
The American people deserve full transparency.
