Sarah Huckabee Sanders Faces Backlash After “Normal vs. Crazy” Remark

Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders

MAGA-aligned Governor of Arkansas Sarah Huckabee Sanders is amplifying President Trump’s talking points leading up to the midterm elections. It’s a fraught topic, as some Republican operatives say the party is in danger of losing due to “how cavalier the billionaire president has been in addressing Americans’ financial worries, which have been exacerbated by Trump’s trade roller coaster and his ongoing war against Iran.”

As seen below in a social media video, Huckabee Sanders didn’t address affordability or the Iran war, but rather announced: “The dividing line in politics is no longer right vs. left, it’s normal vs. crazy. In Arkansas, we’re holding the line: no woke indoctrination in the classroom, no men in women’s sports, no Big Tech exploiting our kids, and no foreign adversaries threatening our way of life.”

Recent surveys from the Associated Press VoteCast show that around 37 percent of Arkansas voters identify as Democrats, while 52 percent lean Republican and 11 percent are independent. Critics argue the Governor’s framing places nearly half of Arkansans on the “crazy” side of the political divide.

Several X users objecting to the Governor’s comments are calling her hypocritical and replying with photos of Huckabee Sanders socializing at the White House in June with Big Tech billionaire Mark Zuckerberg, whose company, Meta, was ordered to pay $375 million in March after a New Mexico jury found the company “liable for deceptive trade practices related to child safety.”

Huckabee Sanders is running for re-election this year against Democratic nominee and Arkansas State Senator Fredrick Love and Libertarian candidate Colt Shelby in the general election in November.

Shelby replied to the Governor’s video by writing, “It’s time we get an honest person in office. Sorry Sarah you had your day.”

[NOTE: The last time a Democrat won an Arkansas gubernatorial election was in 2010, when incumbent Governor Mike Beebe won his second term. Beebe did not run for a third term due to term limits in the state of Arkansas.]
