Retired U.S. Marine Corps fighter pilot Amy McGrath, a Democrat running for retiring Republican Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell‘s Senate seat, slammed President Donald Trump for writing on social media on Sunday: “Now with the death of Iran, the greatest enemy America has is the Radical Left, Highly Incompetent, Democrat Party!”
McGrath, who flew 89 combat missions against al-Qaeda and the Taliban during her 20 years of service in the Marine Corps, responded to the President’s comments: “Labeling every American of the opposition political party as an enemy to the country may be the most un-American thing any president has ever said. Dangerous.”

Some MAGA supporters refuted McGrath’s comment by noting a 2022 speech in which President Joe Biden said that Trump and “MAGA Republicans don’t just threaten our personal rights and economic security. They’re a threat to our very democracy.”
Democrats are responding with comments including, “To be fair they did storm the capital to try to stop a legal election from going through.” Seeking to highlight the difference between the two statements, one commenter asked, “Did Biden kill Iranians and then tweet ‘now that death has come to Iran the next target is MAGA’?”
