U.S. Representative Nancy Mace (R-SC), who has repeatedly said she is against “boots on the ground” in Iran after voting against a War Powers Resolution aimed to compel President Trump to end military actions against Iran, is sounding the alarm after Wednesday’s House Armed Services Committee meeting.
Mace wrote on social media: “The justifications presented to the American public for the war in Iran were not the same military objectives we were briefed on today in the House Armed Services Committee. This gap is deeply troubling. The longer this war continues, the faster it will lose the support of Congress and the American people.”

Mace, who is running for Governor this year, added: “I will not support sending South Carolina’s sons and daughters to war in Iran. I won’t do it. President Trump has been enormously successful so far. But we cannot allow the Washington War Machine to turn Iran into another Iraq.”
Rep. Adam Smith (D-WA), the Ranking Member of the House Armed Services Committee who has said “we never should have started the war in Iran,” appeared on News Nation today and said: “I hope we can take a step back from this constant escalation into more violence and look for more peaceful ways to deal with those people in the world that we disagree with.”
