Alt: Jamie Raskin Blasts Mike Johnson for “Taking Care of All MAGA Violators”
U.S. Representative Jamie Raskin (D-MD) blasted House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) for warning Republicans that if the party loses the midterms, Democrats “will turn every committee of Congress into an investigative body, and they’ll go after the president’s family, the cabinet, his donors and friends, half of you in this room will be targeted.”
Johnson added, “I run the protection program. We’ll take care of you.”
Raskin, Ranking Member on the House Judiciary Committee, replied to Johnson on social media: “1. Speaker Johnson, you’re obsessing about losing the House but don’t seem to realize it’s because you have no program for the country other than illegal disastrous tariffs, illegal disastrous war and humiliating invertebrate submission to your unraveling cult master.”
[NOTE: Raskin filed a discharge petition Thursday to force a House vote on his legislation “to block Trump’s $1.8 billion slush fund and end the Super Pardon for the Trump family and their businesses.”]

Raskin added: “2. You’re projecting onto us your own comically failed and obsessive investigations into President Biden, the Southern Poverty Law Center, James Comey, George Soros, etc.”
Raskin delivered two more points, with his third acknowledging that Democrats will, if given the opportunity by voters, move to counteract what he characterized as the GOP’s “debilitating corruption.”
Raskin wrote:
“3. We obviously must confront the debilitating corruption and authoritarianism you have enabled, but at the same time we’re going to move America forward on all the public goods you have thwarted, like the health care of the people, increasing the minimum wage and protecting our environment.
“4. I agree that you ‘run the protection program’ and ‘take care’ of all MAGA violators!”
