U.S. Representative Thomas Massie (R-KY), who lost his primary to Trump-endorsed Ed Gallrein, continued to voice his opposition to the war with Iran on Capitol Hill this week, even though — as he admits — “There is wide support for this war among Republicans.”
As seen below, Massie said: “Still, there’s a base—there’s Fox News that’s on TV every day trying to glorify this war. Eventually, I think people’s pocketbooks are going to impose reality on them, and they’re going to quit watching Fox and pay more attention to the gas prices.”

Massie added: “We’re already seeing that with farmers, and that’s why you got this $12 billion bailout. Basically they’re trying to buy the farmers off in time for the election with this $12 billion bailout, saying, ‘We’re sorry. We know we basically wrecked your farm through high fertilizer prices, high diesel prices, and high equipment prices, so here’s $12 billion, please don’t punish us in the midterms.’”

Massie, who vowed to vote against it, said Tuesday: “While Americans are focused on other things, like how to make ends meet in the face of a rapidly rising cost of living, tomorrow the House will vote to merge our military technology and supply chains with Israel’s. Our Founders would be appalled at what Congress is doing now.”
Massie’s Democratic colleagues, including Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Pat Ryan (D-NY), will also vote against the amendment.
AOC called it “an existential threat to American sovereignty and democracy.” Ryan called it “a straight up betrayal from a president, by the way, who promised to end wars, not start wars—a president who never spent a single day in uniform but is more than willing to send other people’s kids to fight in his wars.”
