Marjorie Taylor Greene Laughs at Trump’s Florida Endorsement, “An Insult to His Base”

President Donald Trump on Wednesday endorsed U.S. Representative Maria Elvira Salazar (R-FL), who is running for re-election to represent Florida’s 27th Congressional District.

David Giglio, who describes himself as an “America First Republican” and who ran for retired California Republican Congressman Kevin McCarthy’s seat in the 2024 Special Election, responded to Trump’s endorsement with laughter. Giglio amplified the President’s post and wrote: “Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.”

Note: Salazar has been criticized by MAGA supporters for introducing the bipartisan Dignity Act of 2025, which would allow long-term undocumented immigrants to earn legal status through a 7-year “Dignity Program,” which includes paying restitution.

Former Trump supporter and ex-U.S. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) amplified the laughter and wrote of her former colleague Salazar: “She supports illegals more than most democrats.”

Greene added of Trump: “His endorsements are an insult to his base.”

Salazar replied to Greene: “Marjorie, you’re starting to sound like Laura Loomer. Not telling the truth. And you know it. It’s DIGNITY, not AMNESTY. I’ll say it again: dignity, not amnesty, even for the people working in your own construction company. YOU said it yourself: ‘We cannot be rounding up every single person and deporting them.’ So which is it? I don’t shift my message depending on the audience. I stay consistent. I miss our conversations in Congress.”

Note: Trump endorsed California Assemblyman Vince Fong (R) over Giglio in the 2024 GOP primary for McCarthy’s seat. Fong won the Special Election in February and the general election in November.
