MAGA Congressman Says He Has “Zero Concerns” About Cost of Iran War Right Now

Rep. Ronny Jackson

MAGA-aligned U.S. Representative Ronnie Jackson (R-TX), a member of the House Armed Services Committee, appeared on Fox News to discuss President Trump’s decision to launch the massive military strike against Iran, “Operation Epic Fury.”

As seen and heard below, host Laura Ingraham asked Jackson “do you have any concern about the overall cost of this if it goes on longer than what we imagine will be maximum four to six weeks? That’s what it seems the administration is saying and telegraphing.”

Jackson replied: “Laura, I have zero concerns about that right now, because of what’s happening right now, and the way this is supporting our national security and our national interests.”

[Note: According to the Center for American Progress, the estimated U.S. cost of war in Iran has exceeded $5 billion in its first week.]

Jackson criticized the “left wing, progressive, politically motivated” Democrats for questioning the cost of the Iran operation and compared the military spend on what the U.S. has spent on the Russian-Ukraine war, which started in February 2022 when Russia invaded Ukraine.

Johnson claimed that the U.S. has “spent billions and billions of dollars, hundreds of billions of dollars in Ukraine so far,” and again criticized his colleagues in Congress who wore Ukrainian flags on their lapels and “were so proud of the money we were spending in Ukraine, and not questioning for one second where it was going, what it was being used for, or how it was supporting the national interests of the United States.”

Note: According to the U.S. Special Inspector General for Operation Atlantic Resolve, as of December 31, 2025, the U.S. has made available $188 billion total in war-related spending to Ukraine.

And according to U.S. Rep. Mike Turner (R-OH), a senior member of the House Armed Services Committee, the committee has extensively discussed and debated Ukraine aid, and included it in the Fiscal Year 2026 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which includes a $400 million provision for the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI) and authorized $175 million for the Baltic Security Initiative.

Despite voting against the $60 billion Ukraine aid package in April 2024, Rep. Johnson joined Turner in bipartisan delegations including a visit to Kyiv (July 2024), to show support for Ukraine against Russian aggression.

On Fox, the Texan lawmaker also said that he wanted to make it clear that he would like to see Putin defeated and “see Ukraine win this war.”
