President Trump’s former White House press secretary Sean Spicer criticized the appearance of U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff (D-GA) Thursday on social media.
Linking to an article in the right-wing publication Free Beacon, Spicer wrote: “Now I know why he is such a pretty boy — Jon Ossoff Spends Thousands on ‘Makeup Services’ From Artist Who Worked on Hollywood Blockbusters Like ‘The Notebook’ — Ossoff has spent more on makeup than any federal candidate this year, beating out Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Rashida Tlaib.”

Several MAGA figures and supporters responded to Spicer’s post with agreement, including MAGA-aligned U.S. Rep. Derrick Van Orden (R-WI), who replied to Spicer: “The lady looks great.”
Trump critics, however, called out hypocrisy, noting the president’s own fondness for cosmetic glow-ups.
Activist Amy Siskind, author of the book The List: A Week-by-Week Reckoning of Trump’s First Year, replied to Spicer: “You’re commenting on a politician wearing make up? Irony is dead.”

Other critics replied to Spicer’s post with articles from 2025 reporting that former Fox & Friends star and current Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth “ordered modifications to a room next to the Pentagon press briefing room to retrofit it with a makeup studio that can be used to prepare for television appearances.”
