Former attorney John Eastman, who was disbarred in the state of California this week for his efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election in favor of Donald Trump, is thanking his supporters for an “outpouring of support for me,” telling those in his orbit that “outrage at the disbarment decision of the California Bar has been quite encouraging.”
[NOTE: The California Supreme Court disbarred Eastman “after the State Bar Court Review Department in July 2025 affirmed the findings of the State Bar Court Hearing Department’s March 2024 recommendation, which found Eastman culpable of 10 out of 11 charges for egregious and deceitful conduct and recommended his disbarment.”]
Eastman amplified a Federalist article titled ‘John Eastman Disbarment Marks New Low In Lawfare Against Conservatives’ and added, “This one at the @FDRLST is particularly good at describing the large picture, especially for those believing & repeating ad nauseam the calumnies against me.”

While most of the commenters responding to Eastman’s post are supportive, a few object to Eastman’s complaints, including influencer Karen Piper, who replied: “I watched it happen. You nearly destroyed the country.” Another Eastman detractor replied: “Thank your lucky stars you’re free and stop complaining. You deserve to be in jail.”
Eastman pledged that he will be “petitioning the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn this travesty and violations of my First Amendment and Due Process rights. Stay tuned.”
As seen below, sharing a photo of himself with President Trump in the Oval Office, Eastman is asking supporters for financial assistance via a Legal Defense Fund on GiveSendGo.com. He wrote of the appeal: “Costly, but important. Please help here.”
Eastman’s stated goal is to raise $1.5 million; as of April 18, he has raised more than $988,000.
“Denied; disbarred.” With that cursory ruling, the Cal. S.Ct declined to take my case despite clear First Amendment violations. So Bar Court disbarment recommendation now takes effect. We will appeal to U.S. S.Ct. Costly, but important. Please help here. https://t.co/XgROh6CLs4
