On Thursday, the Philadelphia Phillies will finish their series with the Washington Nationals (at home).

They are coming off a 10-4 loss on Wednesday.

John Stolnis of The Good Phight wrote: “The two relievers the Phillies acquired at the trade deadline’s Wednesday night against the Nationals: Brooks Raley: 1 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 1 HR Caleb Kilian: 0.1 IP, 1 H, 5 runs (4 ER), 2 BB, 1 K Allowed 7 of 11 batters to reach base, with Raley holding a 1-run lead and Kilian entering the 11th inning tied. Not ideal!”

During their series with the Nationals, news came out that Lou Trivino had elected free agency.

MLB.com wrote (on August 5): “RHP Lou Trivino III elected free agency.”

Trivino had been designated for assignment earlier this week.

MLB.com wrote (on August 3): “Philadelphia Phillies designated RHP Lou Trivino III for assignment.”

The 34-year-old appeared in three games for the Phillies this season.

Trivino was picked in the 11th round of the 2023 MLB Draft.

He has spent part of seven seasons with the MLB with the Oakland Athletics, Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees, San Francisco Giants, Baltimore Orioles (and Phillies).

Over 337 career games, Trivino has gone 24-27 with a 4.07 ERA.

It will be interesting to see if anyone picks up Trivino before the end of the 2026 season.

While he has struggled this year, he is still a veteran with a lot of experience that could help a team with pitching depth.
