The Buffalo Bills could see the best of Keon Coleman this season.
Coleman hasn’t lived up to expectations as he enters his third NFL season, and it could be do-or-die for his Bills tenure. He was a healthy scratch throughout last season, and owner Terry Pegula called him out after the season.
Although Coleman’s name got brought up in trade rumors, he is still on the roster and is looking to fight for a big role on the offense. As camp continues, Bills insider Matt Parrino of NYUP.com revealed that Coleman has been impressive in camp.
“Mecole Hardman turned in one of the plays of the day in one-on-ones, using a slick release to beat his defender. Then later, he beat cornerback Toriano Pride Jr. before an underthrown Shane Buchele pass let Pride Jr. recover in time. Keon Coleman was just as impressive on the outside, using his size to win a pair of matchups against Maxwell Hairston,” Parrino wrote on X.
If Coleman can impress and be a difference-maker on offense for the Bills, it would be a major positive for Buffalo’s offense.
Coleman recorded 38 receptions for 404 yards and 4 touchdowns last season with the Bills.
Bills HC Praises Coleman
Buffalo made some major changes this offseason as they hired Joe Brady as their new head coach.
After Pegula called out Coleman, Brady said he is the one who pushed for the receiver to be drafted. He also believes Coleman can be an impactful receiver this season for the Bills.
“I made sure once I got the job to let him know, he’s going to be here, he’s going to be a part of our offense,” Brady said during a press conference. “I’m excited about him progressing in this offense and getting with Josh [Allen] and doing those things. I love the work ethic, love how he’s kind of been doing it right now.”
Brady, meanwhile, also hopes Coleman can learn from last year and just puts his head down and goes to work.
“All he can control is what he’s doing moving forward and not putting any more pressure on himself,” Brady said. “Just go out there, run the routes, do your job, block in the run game, make the touchdown blocks. Do the things that he’s capable of doing. And just upholding that standard every single day, and I believe he’ll be able to do that.”
Coleman was selected 33rd overall in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Buffalo Signs Linebacker
As training camp continues, the Bills made an addition to the linebacker room.
Buffalo announced they signed linebacker Otis Reese IV, and to make room for this move, Buffalo placed ILB Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles on injured reserve.
Reese went undrafted in the 2023 NFL Draft and spent the first two seasons with the Tennessee Titans. He played in 20 games and started 5 with Tennessee in those two years. With the Titans, he had 38 tackles and 1 interception.
He had a short stint with the Bills’ practice squad at the beginning of the 2025 season. Reese spent time with the New England Patriots practice squad last year and was waived on July 31.
