Drew Brees is one of the most popular players in all of NFL history.

The New Orleans Saints legend retired after the 2020 season.

That said, he still remains very active on social media, as he has over 1.7 million followers on Instagram.

On Memorial Day, Brees made a heartfelt post to Instagram.

He wrote: “Memorial Day in Barcelona. Honoring all those who have served and sacrificed for our great country, today and every day! 🇺🇸”

There were over 13,000 likes on the post.

Brees was the 32nd pick in the 2001 NFL Draft out of Purdue.

He spent the first five years of his career with the San Diego Chargers.

Following the Chargers, the 47-year-old went on a legendary 15-year run with the Saints, winning the Super Bowl in 2010.

Over 287 career games, Brees threw for 80,358 passing yards and 571 touchdowns.

Saints Last Season

The Saints finished last season with a 6-11 record, which had them at the bottom of the NFC South.

They have not been able to make the NFL playoffs since 2020 (when Brees was still on the team).
