Atlanta Braves Let Go Of 5-Year MLB Player Before Mariners Game

On Wednesday, the Atlanta Braves will conclude their series with the Seattle Mariners in Washington.

The Braves and Mariners have split the first two games, so whoever wins on Wednesday will take the series.

Ahead of Wednesday’s series finale, the Braves announced that they had designated José Azocar for assignment.

The Braves wrote (via X): “The #Braves today selected INF Jim Jarvis to the major league roster and designated OF José Azócar for assignment.”

Azócar appeared in two games for the Braves this season.

He has also had stints with the San Diego Padres and New York Mets over part of five MLB seasons.

Over 230 career games, Azócar is batting .243 with 94 hits, two home runs, 22 RBI’s, 58 runs and 20 stolen bases.
