<p id=”par-1_81″>When you think about <em>The View</em>, you probably don’t think about the occult and the paranormal. The multi-generational panel talk show isn’t focused on such topics; instead, the hosts focus on current events and entertainment news. That doesn’t mean the topic doesn’t come up from time to time, though. Sunny Hostin recently suggested she has psychic abilities. While Whoopi Goldberg shot down Hostin, she’s not above making wild claims herself. We’ve collected three times that <em>The View</em> ventured towards the occult.</p>

<p id=”par-2_48″>On April 21, the “Hot Topics” segment of <em>The View</em> had<a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/the-view-sunny-hostin-recalled-her-tense-exchange-with-meghan-mccain-and-abby-huntsman-over-this-topic.html/”> Sunny Hostin</a> making a wild admission. During the chat, Whoopi Goldberg revealed that one in five Americans believes they possess some psychic abilities. Hostin was quick to insist she was the “one in five” on their panel.</p>
<p id=”par-3_66″>Hostin got serious, telling her co-hosts, “I believe that I have psychic abilities. I grew up very poor, and I dreamt of a number. And my grandmother was like, ‘We are going to play that number’… and my entire family won, based on that number.” Hostin, noting that her co-hosts seemed unconvinced, continued to insist that there had been multiple instances of her dreams coming true.</p>
<p id=”par-4_64″>She insists she’s not alone in her powers, either. Hostin, who was raised in the Bronx, added that her own grandmother had psychic abilities and had assured her that she, too, had “the gift.” While the conversation shifted quickly, the audience was left wondering whether Hostin really has psychic gifts. It wasn’t the first time audiences walked away from <em>The View</em> questioning the occult.</p>

In fact, Goldberg has made it pretty clear that she believes in the paranormal. Most recently, she had a lot to say about aliens and whether they exist in this universe.</p>

<p id=”par-6_90″>During a recent episode, Goldberg posited that not only do aliens exist, but that they are here on Earth. When her co-hosts questioned what they were up to in a joking way, Whoopi remained serious. She insisted that they are hanging around “watching” earthlings. It wasn’t the first time Goldberg had floated the idea. In July 2023, the day after a congressional hearing on claims that the U.S. government had recovered “non-human” remains from space objects, Goldberg said on <em>The View</em> that the claims did not surprise her at all.</p>

Since they moved into the studio in September 2024, several co-hosts have experienced odd moments and unexplained noises.</p>

<p id=”par-8_93″>In May 2025, Whoopi Goldberg experienced an odd moment when she seemed to see something in the studio that no one else did. In July 2025, a strange, eerie noise crept into the studio just as she launched into her first Hot Topics segment after a break. No one is sure if the noise was microphone feedback or something else entirely. The troubles, including bumps, aberrations, and odd noises, aren’t exclusive to the new set either. The show’s ghostly audience appears to have followed the cast from their last home on 67th Street.</p>
