After a disappointing season in which the Atlanta Falcons finished with a record of 8-9 and failed to make the NFL playoffs, the struggling franchise is trying to bounce back with a vengeance ahead of the 2026 campaign.
There’s no doubt that the Falcons have one of the most talented offenses in the league, led by Bjian Robinson, Drake London, Kyle Pitts and quarterback Michael Penix Jr.. Still, there’s always room for improvement, which is where former New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs comes into play.
Stefon Diggs an ‘Ideal’ Option for Falcons?

Although London and Pitts are solid options in the passing game, as well as Robinson, who has become one of the best pass-catching running backs in the game, the Falcons could use more depth in the passing game.
Even though Diggs has his fair share of off-the-field problems, he might be worth taking a flyer on ahead of the 2026 NFL season, which Gilberto Manzano of SI.com makes a case for.
Diggs had a memorable comeback season, helping the Patriots advance to the Super Bowl. He had dominant stretches, stepped up when it mattered most and gave Drake Maye a much-needed security blanket.
But Diggs’s off-field issues were too much to ignore last season. Even if he resolves his legal matters, it’s going to be difficult for Diggs to find a team to bet on him as he enters his age-33 season.
But the tape doesn’t lie, and Diggs was extremely productive last year with 85 receptions for 1,013 yards and four touchdowns.
As Manzano points out, “tape doesn’t lie,” and neither do the numbers that Diggs put up while catching passes from rising star quarterback Drake Maye in New England.
Diggs could be a low-risk, high-reward option for the Falcons if he’s willing to entertain the prospect of signing with Atlanta.
Bijan Robinson Could Get Long-Term Extension
Ever since the Falcons drafted Robinson out of the University of Texas with the No. 8 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, the talented running back has lived up to expectations while becoming the new face of the franchise and putting his name in the conversation for being one of the best players in the NFL at his position.
With the two-time Pro Bowler and one-time All-Pro proving his worth to the Falcons, the team will try to get a lucrative long-term contract extension done with him before the start of the 2026 campaign after recently exercising his fifth-year option, according to Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports.
Robinson is coming off his best year in the NFL, leading the league in yards from scrimmage with 2,298. He also racked up a career-high 1,478 rushing yards and 820 receiving yards to go along with 11 total touchdowns.
Along with being incredibly productive, Robinson is among the most durable backs in the league, as he has played in all 17 regular-season games in each of his three seasons with the Falcons, which is impressive, to say the least.
Needless to say, Robinson will be key to the Falcons’ success on offense moving forward and will more than likely be in for a massive payday before heading into his fourth season in Atlanta.
