The Pittsburgh Steelers concluded the first full week of April meeting with three more 2026 NFL Draft prospects on pre-draft visits. That included the team meeting with mammoth Memphis offensive lineman Travis Burke.
The Athletic’s Mike DeFabo reported the Steelers hosted Burke along with LSU linebacker Harold Perkins and Texas cornerback Malik Muhammad.
Pundits predicted all three prospects to be picked in the third or fourth rounds in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Standing at 6-foot-9 and 325 pounds, Burke has impressive size even for an offensive tackle. He ran the 40-yard dash in 5.17 seconds at the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine.
“Burke is a tall tackle with plus drive-blocking talent for his body type. He uses flexible hips and ankles, along with well-placed hands, to create leverage at the point of attack,” wrote NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein. “He finishes blocks with good aggression when the opportunity arises. A lack of short-area quickness limits his range as a run blocker and in pass protection. He’s scheme-dependent in the run game and will need help managing NFL edge speed, but strong hands allow for longer sustained control when he lands cleanly.
“There are areas of concern that might not be coachable, but Burke’s length and demeanor work in his favor.”
Steelers Host Lineman Travis Burke on Pre-Draft Visit

Burke could be an intriguing option for the Steelers toward the end of Day 2.
The team could target offensive tackle early because of the serious neck injury to left tackle Broderick Jones. But left guard is a bigger need along with other positions if the Steelers see Jones returning and becoming a significant part of the team’s future.
The Steelers could hedge the bet on Jones with a mid-round tackle selection such as Burke.
His massive size could make him an immediate fan favorite.
At Memphis during 2025, Burke started at right tackle. Prior to that, he played left tackle Florida International.
Steelers Depot’s Joe Clark wrote Friday that Burke could also play guard.
The Steelers hold the No. 76, 85 and 99 overall picks in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft.
Steelers Host Harold Perkins, Malik Muhammad on Pre-Draft Visits

Along with Burke, the Steelers met with two mid-round defensive prospects Friday.
Zierlein argued Muhammad has a rather high ceiling for a projected third-round pick. He has the versatility to fill a few different roles in the secondary.
“Muhammad has good coverage talent to offset his slender frame. He can man up from press or off and is a plus pattern-matcher, staying in-phase and shadowing break points,” wrote Zierlein. “Muhammad has Day 2 talent and starter-level ability.”
Perkins has a similar ceiling, but the NFL analyst was concerned about his physical traits, especially after he torn an ACL in 2024.
“Slightly undersized off-ball linebacker with solid 2025 production but less in-game impact than he showed in 2022 and 2023 before his ACL tear in 2024,” wrote Zierlein. “Perkins is at his best when deployed in a scheme that allows him to play free and attack the line as often as possible.”
The Steelers have now hosted with 27 draft prospects on visits this spring. Of those 27, three of them were considered local visits.
The team is permitted to have six more non-local visitors before the 2026 NFL Draft starts on Thursday, April 23.
