Alexander Zverev’s Girlfriend Sends Message Before Monte-Carlo Masters

Alexander “Sascha” Zverev takes on Jannik Sinner in the semifinal of the 2026 Monte-Carlo semifinal on April 11.

After Zverev defeated Joao Fonseca 7-5, 6-7, 6-3, he faces a tough battle against Sinner at the Monte-Carlo Country Club. The German star has a career 4-8 record against Sinner and hasn’t defeated the four-time Grand Slam champion since 2023.

Despite also living in Monte-Carlo, he’s also tough playing against the hometown favorite. “I think the crowd support is always nice, it’s always important,” he told the Tennis Channel. “I don’t get as much love as Jannik Sinner, but most of the crowd is Italian, so I think that is normal.

“But yeah, I enjoy just spending time in my own bed also, sleeping in my own bed, being in my own apartment, I think it’s special.”

Zverev warned that the first week of clay in Italy was not “going to be the prettiest tennis” for most competitors. While he’s “super happy” to be in the semifinals, “the most important thing this week is to show improvement, to find also my aggressive game a bit more.”

“Because I’m struggling a little bit more on clay than I was on hard courts with that,” he admitted. “But overall, I’m in the semis, and I’m happy about that… I feel like it’s going to be hopefully a good clay-court season for me, but still needs to be improvement from me.”
