“It was a racing deal,” Buescher said after finishing ninth. “That’s straight up all it is.”

“I made an aggressive move to try to get to pit road real fast and kind of jump it,” he said. “It was a little bit of an aggressive move, and it didn’t work out.”
The sequence cost him track position and ended his shot at a win in the Goodyear 400. Still, Buescher did not place blame.
“It was nothing intentionally,” he said. “We’re all good. It’s just racing.”

“It was a fun day,” he said. “That was fantastic to come down here… and run that well from practice, qualifying, race, to make improvements.”
The ninth-place finish did not reflect the full potential of the No. 17 team, but it reinforced that they can compete near the front in the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series.
