Ravens Visit With 6-foot-3, 190-Pound ‘Freak’ Prospect

While an analytics-based approach to building a roster is great, in the NFL, finding a dude who can run fast and jump high that’s a certain height and weight is more important.

Vanderbilt cornerback Kolbey Taylor checks those boxes, and the Baltimore Ravens got a 1st person look at Taylor this week at his school’s Pro Day.

“Vanderbilt CB Kolbey Taylor met with the Broncos, Cardinals, Bengals, Lions, Packers, Ravens and Jets among other teams as well at his Pro Day,” Packers reporter Easton Butler wrote on X.

Taylor, 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds, is the rare 3-time member of the “Freaks” list of college football prospects put out by The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman every year.

“The 6-3, 190-pounder is making his third appearance on the Freaks List,” Feldman wrote in August 2025. “Taylor had 23 tackles and one TFL in 2024, his first in the SEC. This offseason, Taylor broad jumped 10-11, vertical jumped 38.5 inches and hit a top speed of 21.99 mph on the GPS.”

Transfer From Wyoming to SEC Upstart

Taylor, a Pasadena, Texas, native, played 3 seasons at Wyoming, including career highs of 29 tackles and 7 pass deflections in 2023, before he transferred to Vanderbilt for his final 2 seasons.

He had 23 tackles and made 6 starts in 11 games in 2024. He ended his career with 25 tackles, 3 pass deflections, 1 fumble recovery, and his 1st career interception in 13 games in 2025.

Taylor also had the good fortune of landing at Vanderbilt for the best 2-year stretch in recent memory — the Commodores played in consecutive bowl games for the 1st time since 2012 and 2013 and cracked the AP Top 10 for the 1st time since 1947.
