At the heart of The Olympic Games, the global spectacle is an event rooted in diplomacy. The competition brings together delegations of athletes from every nation to test the limits of what’s possible. Throughout the games, competitors from different countries are seen befriending one another and cheering each other on. After all, the official Olympic motto is “Citius, Altius, Fortius – Communiter” which translates to “Faster, Higher, Stronger – Together.”
The embodiment of the Olympic spirit has now been showcased in Team USA’s Amber Glenn highlighting the success of a four-legged athlete from the Canine Delegation who victoriously competed in a cross-country ski race in an Olympic debut performance worthy of a gold medal.
Glenn’s support for her fellow athletes comes ahead of her final Olympic figure skating event in the women’s free skate competition and follows her upset during the short program.

In an act of profound sportsmanship, Amber Glenn has taken to her Instagram page to post a replay of the incredible moment when a two-year-old Czechoslovakian wolfdog named Nazgul crossed the finish line during the women’s cross-country free sprint qualifications. On her Instagram story, Glenn linked to a video on the account @weratedogs which shows an exuberant Nazgul joyfully celebrating his Olympic victory as he runs alongside other competitors in the cross-country race.
Amber Glenn’s authenticity in supporting athletes from other delegations at the 2026 Olympic Games in Milan-Cortina is at the core of what makes the figure skater a ‘Blade Angel’ alongside teammates Alysa Liu and Isabeau Levito. Glenn is also a known animal lover and a huge fan of dogs in particular. Her own dog, a small Schipperke called Uki, makes frequent appearances on her social media pages and in her skating life.

On February 19, 2026 Glenn will compete alongside Alysa Liu and Isabeau Levito in the women’s free skate competition just two days after she experienced a devastating performance during the short program event. During the first part of the competition, Glenn fell on the ice and then received a penalty for an invalid element when she failed to complete her final triple loop jump.
Since the women’s short program, Glenn has posted not only about Nazgul’s victory as the first athlete from the Canine Delegation to cross the Olympic finish line, but she has also posted to her Instagram stories about her optimistic outlook and courageous strength going into the women’s free skate. In her post, Glenn says, “The world has ended for me many times and yet tomorrow still comes. Keep going.”
Without a doubt, both Glenn and Nazgul will keep going and keep striving for Olympic glory!
