Top 10 new theme park attractions in the U.S. for 2025

It’s never too early to look ahead at what’s on tap for next year and 2025 is already shaping up as a good year for roller coaster enthusiasts, thrill ride junkies and theme park fanatics in the United States.

Consider our Top 10 for 2025 an evolving and ever-changing list of the best new rides and attractions coming to theme parks in the U.S. in the coming year.

Many parks have already begun construction on 2025 projects while other parks have only announced plans or launched teaser campaigns.

We’ll update our Top 10 list for 2025 as new rides and attractions are unveiled and more details become available.

1) Universal Epic Universe

The new Universal Epic Universe theme park will open May 22 just before Memorial Day Weekend 2025 with more than 50 rides, attractions, shows and experiences.

The 750-acre Epic Universe will feature five themed lands: Harry Potter’s Ministry of Magic, How to Train Your Dragon’s Isle of Berk, Dark Universe, Super Nintendo World and Celestial Park.

2) Universal Horror Unleashed

Universal Parks & Resorts will open a new permanent Universal Horror Unleashed experience in Las Vegas that will build on the success of Halloween Horror Nights events at its theme parks in California and Florida.

Universal Horror Unleashed will be housed in a 110,000-square foot indoor space at the Area15 entertainment district near the Las Vegas Strip.

3) Siren’s Curse

Cedar Point will add the Siren’s Curse coaster in 2025 to the Ohio theme park’s lineup of 17 coasters.

The Vekoma Cliffhanger tilt coaster will be the tallest, longest and fastest ride of its kind in North America.

4) Rapterra

The triple-inversion Rapterra coaster coming to Virginia’s Kings Dominion will be the world’s tallest and longest ride of its kind when it debuts in 2025.

The 145-foot-tall Bolliger & Mabillard launched wing coaster will reach a top speed of 65 mph while navigating 3,086 feet of track.

5) Arctic

The Arctic flying theater coming to SeaWorld Orlando will employ a new Mack Rides twist on Disney’s familiar Soarin’ attractions.

The five-minute experience will take riders on a flight over icy landscapes and beneath frozen waters where they will encounter beluga whales, orcas and walruses.

6) Wrath of Rakshasa

Wrath of Rakshasa coaster coming to Illinois’ Six Flags Great America will be the steepest dive coaster in the world with the most inversions of any ride of its kind.

The 180-foot-tall Bolliger & Mabillard dive coaster will feature a 96-degree beyond-vertical first drop that will send riders racing 67 mph through five inversions.

7) Big Bad Wolf: The Wolf’s Revenge

The Big Bad Wolf: The Wolf’s Revenge coaster coming to Busch Gardens Williamsburg will pay tribute to the Arrow Dynamics suspended coaster of the same name that operated at the Virginia theme park from 1984 to 2009.

The Bolliger & Mabillard family inverted coaster will reach a top speed of 40 mph over 2,583 feet of track.

8) Fire Runner

The Fire Runner coaster coming to Iowa’s Lost Island theme park will travel along a single-rail track capable of delivering tight turns and inversions.

The Rocky Mountain Construction coaster will reach a top speed of 52 mph as riders navigate three inversions over a 1,950-foot-long Raptor track.

9) ‘Walt Disney: A Magical Life’

The world’s first Walt Disney Audio-Animatronics figure will debut in 2025 at the Main Street Opera House at Disneyland.

The new “Walt Disney — A Magical Life” animatronic show will initially run solo before playing in rotation with “Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln.”

10) Mattel Adventure Park

The new Mattel Adventure Park in Glendale, Arizona, is expected to debut in 2025 after a series of delays.

The toy themed park will feature two Hot Wheels roller coasters and a Barbie Beach House with a Dream Closet Experience featuring Barbie in hologram form.

The marquee attraction will be the Hot Wheels Twin Mill Racer coaster with a double loop and two corkscrews. The Chance Rides Hyper GT-X will be the slightly more extreme cousin of the Lightning Run coaster at Kentucky Kingdom.

The mostly indoors 9-acre park will be open year round.
