A Santa Rosa man was arrested in possession of a handgun early Saturday after officers were dispatched to a report of gunshots being fired, police said.

Officers were sent to the area of Olive Street and Earle Street about 3:30 a.m. to investigate the gunshots complaint. A caller told police they looked outside and saw someone get in a silver Toyota Tacoma and drive away.

Minutes away, in the area of Dutton Avenue and Sebastopol Road, officers found a matching vehicle. A loaded 9mm pistol was found under the seat, police said.

Jose Orozco-Abaraca was accused of possession of a loaded firearm in a vehicle, shooting at an inhabited dwelling and driving on a suspended license.
