San Jose: Four arrested in fatal robbery shooting off Saratoga Avenue

SAN JOSE — A 36-year-old and three teenagers have been arrested in connection with a shooting death that occurred during a robbery late Monday in West San Jose, police said Wednesday.

The shooting was reported at 11:58 p.m. in the 1000 block of Saratoga Avenue, according to the San Jose Police Department.

Responding police officers found an unconscious man in that area, and he was pronounced dead, police said. He has been identified by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office as Francisco David Padilla, 37, of San Jose.

An ensuing investigation determined that the shooting happened in the middle of a robbery in which Padilla was also assaulted, police said. The coroner’s office confirmed that he died from a gunshot wound to his chest.

Homicide detectives and patrol officers soon identified four people as suspects in the killing, police said. Within 24 hours of the shooting, police arrested Daniel Andino, 36; Jose Andino, 19; Amelia Sistrunk, 18 and a 17-year-old minor whose identity has been withheld because of age.

Additional details about the arrestees were not disclosed by police Wednesday. Daniel and Jose Andino were booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail in San Jose, and Sistrunk was booked into the Elmwood women’s jail in Milpitas. All three were booked on suspicion of murder, and are being held without bail, records show.
