Rapper identified as North Oakland fatal shooting victim

OAKLAND — A rising rapper was identified Monday as the woman fatally shot Saturday afternoon outside a North Oakland beauty supply business where she had performed at a grand-opening event hours earlier, authorities said.

Police said Monday they had not determined a motive or made any arrests in the killing of Alliauna Green, 27, who performed under the name Tan DaGod and had thousands of followers.

The shooting, which left another woman injured, happened about 5 p.m. Saturday in a parking lot outside Glamor Beauty Supply, 4013 Telegraph Ave.

The store had a grand reopening earlier in the day and Green had taken fans on an Instagram virtual tour of the premises and also performed.

Police were told Green most recently had been living in Kansas but also had a San Leandro address.

The shooting happened while dozens of people were in the parking lot. Police said Green got into a verbal altercation with some people and was shot. A friend took her to a hospital, where she later died.

Another woman was injured during the shooting, but authorities are not sure if it was by a stray bullet or shattered glass.
