Oakland man charged with selling cocaine and pot after investigation spanning ‘several months’

OAKLAND — Alameda County prosecutors have charged a man with selling cocaine and marijuana while armed after a May 15 on a local home.

The 24-year-old defendant was charged with four felonies after an investigation that police say spanned “several months.” The end result was a May 15 police raid on a home at the 1900 block of 83rd Avenue in Oakland.

Police say they found a firearm, roughly $16,000 in cash, five-and-a-half pounds of cocaine, some capsules of suspected MDMA, and an estimated 15-20 pounds of marijuana during a search of the home. The man and two family members were detained.

The man pleaded not guilty and was released on his own recognizance at his first court hearing, records show.
