Want to give the gift of the jitters to somebody dear this holiday season? Then drop by the Oakland Coffee Holiday Market, taking place downtown on Saturday, Dec. 14.
The inaugural event features more than two-dozen local coffee businesses that are offering tastings and gifts for purchase. On the roster are West Oakland’s Proyecto Diaz Coffee, Nomadic Coffee near the estuary, the East Bay’s Highwire Coffee Roasters and downtown’s Italian-inspired Caffe by Mr. Espresso.
Who knew Oakland had so many unique coffee makers in so many separate enclaves? You will, if you visit the fair (see the full list of participating businesses below).
The event takes place from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. inside the Rotunda Building at 300 Frank H. Ogawa Plaza, Oakland. There will be interactive workshops and live music from King Kooba and the Trout and Landshark. While it’s free admission, if you RSVP you get entered into a lottery for prizes like a Fellow Opus coffee grinder, an Origami dripper and stand and a Poppo Air Popcorn Kit for home roasters.
