Mountain View: Woman stabbed ex-boyfriend at his front door, police say

MOUNTAIN VIEW — A woman was arrested over the weekend after trying to break into an ex-boyfriend’s apartment and stabbing him in the hand at his front door, authorities said.

Officers were called at 2:51 p.m. Sunday to a residence in the 900 block of El Camino Real, just west of the city’s border with Sunnyvale, for a report of domestic violence and a male victim who was bleeding, according to Mountain View police.

Responding officers found the reported victim and confirmed he had been stabbed in one of his hands; Mountain View firefighters were summoned and treated him on scene, police said.

He told police that a woman with whom he had been in a past dating relationship “arrived at his door” and tried to force her way inside his home. During the confrontation, the woman pulled out a pocket knife and attacked him, police said, and he was stabbed in the hand while defending himself.

Soon after, the woman got into her car and left the area. On Sunday evening, she was found and arrested by police in San Jose.

Mountain View police identified the woman as a 39-year-old San Jose resident. Jail records show she was booked into the Elmwood women’s jail in Milpitas and is being held without bail, on suspicion of crimes including attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, domestic violence, and residential burglary.
