Morgan Hill police arrest man on suspicion of child sexual abuse

MORGAN HILL — The Morgan Hill Police Department announced Thursday that its officers had arrested a teenager on suspicion of several charges including child sexual abuse.

Police received a tip on Dec. 24, 2024, that a 19-year-old man allegedly had child sexual-abuse material in his possession. A subsequent investigation found that the teenager had kept hundreds of images and videos depicting the sexual abuse of minors, police said.

Detectives also found evidence suggesting he might have abused a child in his care.

The teen was arrested and booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on Dec. 30, according to jail records, which show his next court appearance as Jan. 10. He is facing charges related to child sexual assault and possession of child sexual-abuse material.
