Man shot outside his Oakland home

OAKLAND — A 52-year-old man shot Tuesday morning outside his East Oakland apartment was in stable condition Wednesday and the suspect was still being sought by police, authorities said.

The shooting happened about 11:18 a.m. Monday at an apartment complex in the 1700 block of 22nd Avenue, a mostly residential area in the San Antonio district.

The victim got into an argument with another person outside his apartment and was shot, police said. The shooter then fled.

Another person drove the wounded man to a hospital where police were notified.

A motive for the shooting is under investigation. Investigators are trying to determine if the victim knew the shooter and so far no suspect information has been released.
