It seems that Lauren Sanchez, the attention-seeking fiancee of billionaire Jeff Bezos, is having a rough start to 2025, according to the Daily Beast.
On Instagram Story, the 55-year-old former TV personality and licensed helicopter pilot, posted a photo of herself, in yet another one of her cleavage-forward tops, as she was at the helm of one of her aircrafts. Sanchez captioned the photo: “Some years start with turbulence, but that’s just the wind reminding you to spread your wings.”
Sanchez was being mysterious in her caption when she’s not always mysterious about other things. But her message could leave people to guess that her rough start has something to do with criticism that she and Bezos, Amazon founder and Washington Post owner, have faced for his capitulation to Donald Trump before and after the Nov. 5 election.
Sanchez, however, also faced fierce backlash from Trump’s MAGA world for wearing an “obscene” lacy bustier top beneath her white coat, as she joined Bezos and America’s other tech billionaires in a oligarchic-style display of power at the new president’s Jan. 20 inauguration.
Many thought her outfit choice was inappropriate for such a historic occasion in the rotunda of the U.S. Capitol. Conservative pundit Megyn Kelly even went so far as to call Sanchez “a hooker.”
In a rant on her podcast, The Megyn Kelly Show, last month, Kelly said: “She looked like a hooker. I can’t with this woman. The girls were out… I can see the middle of her boobs. I can see her underboob… this is absurd. She couldn’t even keep them covered up for a day.”
“This is not my first time saying she dresses like a hooker because she does,” Kelly also said. “She has no class. No dignity. No respect,” Kelly wrote in another X post.
But as Lauren Sanchez said on Instagram Story, she would use such “turbulence” going forward as a reminder to “spread her wings.” She said it was “good to be back in the air,” with a vow to fly “further than we ever imagined.”
As the Daily Beast pointed out, Sanchez is likely to have “an event-filled” 2025, if 2024 is any example. Her 2024 included weeks-long trips on Bezos’s $500 million super yacht and viewing the launch of one of his Blue Origin rockets. At a gala in March 2024, she and Bezos also received praise for their “courage and civility” from Eva Longoria, after they handed the “Desperate Housewives” star one of their $50 million “Courage and Civility” prizes, to be used to for her eponymous foundation that promotes entrepreneurship and education for Latinas.
But Bezos and Sanchez were accused of lacking “courage and civility” after the billionaire plunged the Washington Post into crisis over his decision to censor the newspaper’s endorsement of Kamala Harris. Sanchez, however, helped her fiancé avoid employee anger and subscriber backlash by joining him on a weekend jaunt to Europe to celebrate Katy Perry’s 40th birthday, with a stop in Venice before attending the birthday bash in Geneva, Switzerland.
