Here’s rescheduled date, ticket info for Styx, Foreigner concert at Concord

The Bay Area stop on Styx and Foreigner’s co-headlining Renegades and Juke Box Heroes Tour — which was originally set for June 29 — has been moved to July 1.

The venue site remains the same: Toyota Pavilion at Concord.

The start time also remains unchanged and so classic rock fans will want to be in their seats by 6:45 p.m. in order to catch opening act John Waite.

Of course, that was exactly what thousands of concert-goers did on June 29 and, yet, there was no music to be had — due to a PG&E power outage that resulted in organizers having to pull the plug on the show.

That resulted in some 9,500 really disappointed classic rock fans, who had traveled from all over the Bay Area in order to see the impressive classic-rock triple bill.

Fortunately, their tickets are still good for the rescheduled date. So, they can just show up and be ready to rock out to such Styx classics as “Come Sail Away” and Foreigner favorites like “Juke Box Hero.” (We were at least as interested in hearing Waite sing the Babys’ “Midnight Rendezvous” and “Every Time I Think of You” as we were catching the two headliners.)

For those who can’t make the rescheduled date, refunds are also available. But fans must submit a request to get those refunds (via email sent to ticketholders).

It is, however, a little bit tricky to discern how long people to make refund request. In the first reference in the above mentioned email, the promoters Live Nation says, “You have through July 1, 2024 to choose a refund.” That can be taken as meaning 11:59 p.m. July 1 — at which point the show would be well over. The second reference, however, mentions that people who do not choose the refund method “by July 1, 2024, your tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled date.” Technically, speaking that would denote that people need to request a refund at least by 11:59 p.m. today (June 30).

Our advice to fans seeking refunds is to follow the latter path just to be safe.
