The Bridge Fire which had burned 54,878 acres in Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties was 97 percent contained on Thursday, Sept. 26.
But how the fire started is still under investigation, said John Miller, spokesman for the U.S. Forest Service.

Hot, dry weather Thursday will likely cause some unburned pockets of fuel to flare up, fire officials said. Firefighters continued mopping up, investigating smoke and putting out isolated heat sources on Thursday, authorities said.
The Bridge Fire broke out 2:12 p.m. on Sept. 8 in the East Fork area of the Angeles National Forest.
To date, eight firefighters have been injured. The injuries weren’t major, according to Miller.
The fire has also destroyed 81 structures and damaged 17 structures. It wasn’t clear yet how many of these affected structures are homes.
