The fire was reported about 10:40 a.m. in the 4100 block of Sierra Road, near the Prevost Ranch and Gardens and the Sierra Vista Open Space Preserve.

The San Jose Fire Department posted shortly after 11 a.m. on social media that crews were encountering light flashy fuels making good progress on the blaze.
