Police investigate arson at Bay Area Target

The Creek Fire broke out around 3:50 p.m. near Welch Creek and Calaveras roads, according to the Cal Fire Santa Clara Unit.

The preserve was evacuated.

As of 6 p.m., the fire had consumed 150 acres and was 0% contained, Cal Fire said.

The fire was one of two that spurred evacuation orders and warnings Friday in the East Bay.

The Point Fire started just before 3 p.m. off Evora Road between Bay Point and Concord. As of 6 p.m., the blaze had consumed 200 acres and was 20% contained.
