Bay Area News Group girls athlete of the week: Sydney Silva, Bishop O’Dowd golf

Bishop O’Dowd golfer Sydney Silva is the Bay Area News Group’s girls high school athlete of the week for Oct. 21-26.

In online voting that ended at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Silva finished with 53.88% of the votes. The King’s Academy flag football player Mia Bennette took second at 29.31%.

Congratulations to all the candidates for this week’s recognition.

Silva, a senior committed to Arizona, led the Dragons to a West Alameda County Conference title, carding a 3-under-par 68.
