Bay Area News Group girls athlete of the week: Lola Sierra, Capuchino

Capuchino softball player Lola Sierra is the Bay Area News Group’s girls high school athlete of the week for May 20-25.

In online voting that ended at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sierra had 37.78% of the vote to finish ahead of Alissa Jones, a Berean Christian softball player who took second at 28.88%.

Congratulations to all the candidates for this week’s recognition.

Sierra, a junior pitcher, struck out 10 and allowed three hits in the Mustangs’ 7-3 win over Milpitas in the CCS Division II title game. Capuchino captured its second section title in school history.
