Bay Area News Group girls athlete of the week: Elsa Chin, Alameda flag football

Alameda flag football player Elsa Chin is the Bay Area News Group’s girls high school athlete of the week for Sept. 30-Oct. 5.

In online voting that ended at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Chin finished with 38.87% of the votes. Monte Vista water polo player Lauren Lynam placed second with 31.56%.

Congratulations to all the candidates for this week’s recognition.

Chin, a senior, filled up the stat sheet for the Hornets over the past week. She scored two rushing touchdowns and had two interceptions in a win over Arroyo and added three interceptions and two touchdowns in a win over Castro Valley.
