Bay Area News Group girls athlete of the week: Doris Cheung, Sacred Heart Cathedral volleyball

Sacred Heart Cathedral volleyball player Doris Cheung is the Bay Area News Group’s girls high school athlete of the week for Nov. 4-9.

In online voting that ended at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Cheung finished with 27.92% of the votes. El Cerrito tennis player Ashara Rodrigo took second at 20.02%.

Congratulations to all the candidates for this week’s recognition.

Cheung, a junior, had a team-high 16 assists as the top-seeded Fightin’ Irish swept Soquel to win the CCS Division III crown.
